8 x 5 Wool profit program

The 8x5 Wool Profit Program is an integrated research, development and extension program to assist Tasmanian wool producers to achieve an eight per cent annual return on assets managed within five years through access to benchmarking, best practice information, group improvement initiatives.

The 8x5 Wool profit Program is a major new initiative in the Tasmanian wool industry jointly funded by Australian Wool Innovation Limited and the Tasmanian Institute of Agricultural Research.

Management The program is led by the Program Manager, Andrew Johnston.

There are a program management committee made up of a majority of 5 woolgrowers and representatives of the UTAS and DPIWE.  The role of this committee is to oversee the program.

The program management committee meets quarterly and part takes in the 6 monthly reviews conducted by AWI.

There is also an implementation committee, formed from key representatives of TIAR, UTAS and DPIWE.

The 8x5 Wool Profit Program is made up of several sub-projects.  Each of these is lead by a team leader.
