Wool4Wealth is an AWI funded special three year 'course', consisting of 12 hands-on professional workshops designed to help build higher productivity and profits for enrolled wool enterprises.

Working in a small group environment, leading specialists will share their skills and in-depth wool production knowledge.

Topics covered in the Wool4Wealth program are:

  • Comparative analysis of key profit drivers
  • Business planning
  • Optimising stocking rates
  • Increasing lamb numbers
  • Sheep health
  • Using genetics for profit
  • Wool marketing strategies
  • Drought management strategies
  • Succession planning
  • Grazing management

These specialists will also address specific issues for enrolled businesses.

Locations The three-year program involves 12 hands-on workshops for small groups of producers across six major regions of NSW - Northern Tablelands, North West Slopes and Plains, Central West Slopes and Plains, Central West Tablelands, Southern Slopes and Tablelands, and the Riverina.
Number of groups involved Wool4Wealth is expected to attract 50 groups and 800 woolgrowers over the next three years to the network.
Benefits Through participation in Wool4Wealth, woolgrowers could hope to:

- sell more wool per hectare;
- sell a higher quality product per head;
- sell product at a higher price per kilogram; and
- sell product at a lower cost per kilogram.
