According to Cotton Outlook forecasts global cotton production will rise some 11% during the 2004/05 season as growers respond to the higher prices and strong consumption levels in the current season.
China's wool fibre imports (raw and semi-processed) remained weak during Q4 2003, down 21% against the corresponding quarter in 2002). For the full year 2003, China's wool imports were down 20% on 2002 and at a similar level to that of 1999 imports.
The Australian wool market finished the week with prices decreasing by 1.6% on average at sales in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle.

Whilst the Australian wool market remained steady on average this week, sale prices improved slightly at sales in Sydney and Melbourne, but decreased in Fremantle.
