Statistics released by the Uruguayan Wool Secretariat (SUL) showed that, for the first quarter of the 2006/07 season, exports of raw and semi-processed wool have benefitted from improved Chinese purchasing.

Statistics released by the Office of Textiles and Apparel (OTEXA), show US imports of apparel, all fibre types, declined during the first eight months to August. Falling volumes from China and Mexico were the main contributors to this decline.
