China's domestic wool market has experienced an upward trend in prices since the beginning of 2007, although prices paused during July to September 2007.

The Australian wool market finished 0.9% higher, on average, at sales in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle this week.

Cotton prices in the first 5 months of the 2007/08 season showed no signs of weakening. In November 2007, the average monthly Cotlook A Index was only marginally stronger than in October, however it was much stronger than 12 months previous and also similarly well above the long term 10 year average.

Taiwan's year-on-year gains in the import of wool fibre, textiles and apparel during the first half of 2007 were negated by a strong fall during Q3. Most notable was a solid slowdown in the imports of greasy wool and wool top.
