The Chairman of Australian Wool Innovation Limited (AWI), the Hon. Ian McLachlan, has announced the company's interim management measures, saying the new appointees are well equipped to take AWI into the next stage of its development.

The Chairman of the Board of Australian Wool Innovation Limited, The Honourable Ian McLachlan, has announced that the current Managing Director, Mr Col Dorber will leave the company effective from Friday 29 November 2002.

AWI committed $500,000 to the Farmhand Appeal through the Red Cross in October 2002. As agreed with the Red Cross prior to the money being donated, the statutory requirements of AWI necessitated that this money was donated subject to the following conditions:

Australian Wool Innovation Managing Director, Col Dorber said "the shareholders of Australian Wool Innovation Limited have spoken and for as long as I am privileged to be Managing Director of this company, I will honour their decision."
Speaking on behalf of the five newly elected Directors of AWI, Mr McLachlan thanked the Shareholders of AWI for their confidence in electing five new directors to their Board.
