With an industry commitment to phase out the current practice of mulesing by 2010, sheep and wool producers are being encouraged to learn about new blowfly control technologies from Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) first-hand at the Karoonda Farm Fair on Friday 4th April and Saturday 5th April.

The Chairman of Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) Ian McLachlan today welcomed the support of the Australian Wool and Sheep Industry Taskforce in reaffirming their commitment to the phasing out of the current practice of mulesing by 2010.
Improved seasonal conditions has resulted in a modest upward revision to the 2007/08 shorn wool production forecast, and stable production for the 2008/09 season, according to the Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) Production Forecasting Committee.

Australian Wool Innovation Chairman, Ian McLachlan, has announced that the AWI Board today unanimously passed the following resolution regarding the wool industry’s commitment to the phasing out of the current practice of mulesing:
