AWI standard contracts
AWI has a standard set of contracts to engage with researchers, consultants, licensees, commercial partners and suppliers in a fair and equitable way.
Australian Wool Innovation Limited (AWI) is committed to contracting fairly with researchers, consultants, licensees, commercial partners, and suppliers.
In order to do this AWI has developed a set of standard contracts upon which it will contract with such providers.
Completing a contract
Most of AWI's standard contracts have been drafted so that the terms and conditions of a contract cannot be varied. This non-variable section of the contract is either in PDF format or inserted as an image.
All variables relating to a contract, such as a party's name, the project details, milestone dates, and funds payments are to be inserted in the relevant sections for each document, where applicable. Contracting on this basis ensures that AWI, largely, has consistent contracts and reduces the time needed to review contracts and eliminates protracted negotiations between parties.
The signing clause used in any contract will vary depending in the type of entity entering into that contract with AWI.

Used whenever a researcher or an external party is undertaking a research project or product development for AWI. |

Scholarship Contract - Undergraduate
Used whenever AWI undertakes to make a payment to an undergraduate student in return for that student attending a university course and undertaking a particular program of study and reporting on that program. |

Scholarship Contract - Intermediary
Used where AWI agrees to fund research that will be undertaken by a recipient whose research will be supervised by a research organisation. AWI will own the research intellectual property (IP) created pursuant to the research immediately upon its creation. |
